FreePDFKit is a small collection of free PDF tools built for one simple reason: most online PDF sites ask you to upload private documents to someone else's server, then put limits, watermarks or paywalls in the way.
We took a different approach. Every tool on this site runs entirely in your web browser using JavaScript — the open-source pdf-lib and pdf.js libraries do the actual work. Your files are opened from your disk, processed in memory, and written straight back to your downloads folder. There is no server-side processing step at all.
The site is supported by advertising. We show ads so the tools can stay free — but ads never touch your documents, because we never receive them.
PDF creation and editing uses pdf-lib (MIT licence). Rendering and text extraction uses pdf.js from Mozilla (Apache 2.0 licence). Both are mature, widely used open-source projects.
